Delhi Technological University traces its origins to Delhi Polytechnic, founded in 1941, and became a university in 2009. It is Delhi's highest-ranked engineering institution in this list at NIRF 30 and operates from a 163-acre campus in Rohini with a second campus in East Delhi. DTU offers 2,642 B.Tech seats across computer, software, IT, electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil and emerging branches. The university is approved by UGC and AICTE and accredited 'A' grade by NAAC. For Delhi-domicile students wanting brand, scale and campus life at a government fee of roughly ₹11 lakh, DTU remains the default first choice.
In the 2025 season, 350+ companies participated and 2,053 offers were made, with the B.Tech average at ?18.46 LPA. The highest domestic offer was ?85 LPA and a single international offer from Palantir London reached ?1.8 crore. Software Engineering recorded the highest branch average at ?21.54 LPA.
B.Tech admission is through JEE Main followed by JAC Delhi counselling, which DTU shares with NSUT, IIIT Delhi and IGDTUW on one common form. Admission is purely rank-based with no management quota; 85% of seats are reserved for Delhi-domicile candidates. B.Des is through UCEED, M.Tech through GATE, MBA through CAT/MAT, M.Des through CEED, BA/BBA through CUET, and lateral entry through DTU LEET.
